Google Desktop Search
Yesterday, came across very interesting tool from Google known as Google Desktop Search . Although it has been there for quite some time but somehow I have never used the same.
Google Desktop is desktop search software made by Google for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows, the program allows text searches of a user's e-mails, computer files, music, photos, chats, Web pages viewed. Google Desktop makes searching the computer as you are search web with any key word . It's a application that will provides full text search over users email, files, music, photos, chats, Gmail etc.
By making the computer searchable, Desktop puts the information easily within one's reach & make your life easy from having to manually organize your files, emails and bookmarks.

Although with its advantages it has many negative aspects also. A per one of the criticism Yair Amit, of Watchfire, found a series of issues in Google Desktop that could allow a malicious individual to achieve not only remote, persistent access to sensitive data, but in sometimes user system control and also one of my friend reported it to make computer slow .
