As per recent survey coducted by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC ,
number of Internet users in China reached 450+ million at the end of 2010, which is more than 73 million users from the last year.
Using search engines, listening to music, and reading news were the top three most popular activities for Web users in the Chine . Baidu was most popular Search Engine after the ban on Google .Micro-blogging is done by 13.8 percent of Chinese Internet users, while group buying is at 4.1 percent.
While growth has slowed, more than half the population is still not online.
The bulk of China's Internet users live in urban areas. Web users from China's rural areas were 125 million, making up about 27.3 percent of China's total Internet user population.

Search Engine War - Latest statistics
In a latest survey comscore has come up with the latest statistics and news seems to be good for Microsoft led search engine 'Bing' , it has gained considerably in last few month while Yahoo based Search engine share has declined few percent.
All this has happened when Yahoo and microsoft integrated there search technology. As per latest stats available from comscore yahoo share was showing at 16 percent while Bing share was 12 percent , note these figures are relative to there last levels.
Another figures shows from King of Search Engine Google with 66.6 percent , this happened while Baidu a China based Search Engine gained grounds after extinction of Google from China.

It is estimated that More than 16 + billion searches were done in December 2010 .As expected , Google search engine ranked first with around 11.0+ billion searches. Yahoo! Search was second with 2.6 billion and third by Microsoft Sites with nearly 2.0 billion (up 4 percent).
